Motif FoodWorks is a spin-off ingredients focused company from Ginkgo Bioworks. Leveraging Ginkgo’s microbial engineering technology and foundries, Motif FoodWorks will focus on the development of proteins and molecules synthesized through cellular fermentation. We think of this as a new-wave Ingredion, ADM, or Cargill, supplying ingredients to large scale food manufacturers. The Motif supply chain does not start with the farmers, and rather begins with DNA making this an inherently vertically integrated business.
